Patricia Ann Dunn (or "Patsy") is how everyone knew this Mohawk
girl in her tropical home of Jamaica when she was little. Patti spent
her formative years there, along with her 3 brothers, and Mom & Dad. Her days were filled with running barefoot, finding lizards for
her pockets, & picking fruit from the trees in their yard!
She has survived hurricanes, seen crocodiles swimming in their
baptismal tank, and been caught swimming in their drinking water tank on really hot days! Oh, the life of a Missionary kid!
Patti was raised in a Christian home, and came to know the Lord at an early age. She is proud of her parents & their dedication to their ministry in Jamaica. Her father, Leonard Dunn, had a heart for seeing souls saved, and planted many churches in Jamaica as a result of his ministry there.
Patti was a very shy little girl..........so shy that her mom often had to take her out of church meetings because it was too much strain on her. She was often found hiding behind her mother's skirts as protection from onlookers eyes. Who would have ever thought that this shy girl would one day sit on stage before thousands of people in a music ministry?
When Patti was in her early teens the Dunn family returned to Canada & settled in Southern Ontario. It was at this time that she attended a Youth for Christ rally & found herself quite taken with one of the young singers on stage. Who were "The Singing Hills?"
She had never heard of them before.........
God had a plan that night at that young people's rally, for it was there that the romance of Roger & Patti Hill began! Not long after that they were married, and they started their life together.
Roger, was a school teacher, & Patti, was a nurse. They both travelled with Roger's family as the original Singing Hills on the weekends. Roger sang, & Patti played the piano. It wasn't long before their 2 yr. old daughter, Kari made her way onto stage!
Patti is often thankful today that her mom made her take piano lessons. Even though she can remember coming home & stating "I will never take another piano lesson again!" She's so glad her mom gently encouraged her to do so.
Anyone who knows Patti would say that she is one spunky lady! Even though she has had some health issues, that doesn't taint her enthusiasm for life. She is excited to continue travelling with her family for as many years as the Lord allows!
When asked the question if she's enjoyed the years on the road with her family, she would proudly say "sweeter gets the journey!"
